Heathrow Airport saw a record number of passengers in 2013 to 72.3 million.
The airport posted a 3.4% rise in passengers for the year with its satisfaction level at a record high of 75%, compared to 48% in 2007.
Selling Stansted and the passenger increase helped the airport post a pre-tax profit of GBP426 million while its EBITDA was up 23.1% to GBP1.4 billion.
“Heathrow performed strongly in 2013 with passenger satisfaction reaching record levels. The construction phase of Terminal 2 was completed and the opening in June will be another major step in the transformation of Heathrow. We also welcomed the Airports Commission’s interim report shortlisting our proposal for a third runway,” said chief executive Colin Matthews.
