Heritage Hotel Management has opened its 20th hotel in New Zealand.
The Devon Hotel in the North Island city of New Plymouth offers a range of room types, many with sea views, plus a restaurant and bar, a heated outdoor swimming, spa pools and free Wi-Fi.
But the hotel is most famous for its MICE facilities, which include a new conference centre that can seat up to 750 people, plus eight smaller function rooms.
“We are delighted to have such a large-scale conference venue in such an important region join the Heritage Hotel group,” said Tony Howlett, Heritage’s general manager of sales & marketing. “It opens up potential to attract larger association business and conferences related to the many strong local industries.”
The hotel also has celebrity connections; Tom Cruise stayed at The Devon while he was filming The Last Samurai.
Heritage now operates a portfolio of 20 hotels in 16 destinations across New Zealand.
