Hertz introduces Volvo S60 to UAE fleet

Hertz UAE says it will continue to play its part in helping to reduce road accidents in the Emirates after introducing one of the safest cars in the world to its fleet.The arrival of the new 2012 Volvo S60 sedan is the latest step in an ongoing safe driving initiative by the company, which has made airbags and anti-lock braking systems (ABS) standard across its entire range of cars, SUVs and trucks.”Road accidents in the UAE fell 21 per cent from 2009 to 2010 and we want to play our part in making sure that trend continues,” said Nigel Johnson, Managing Director, Hertz UAE.”Bringing in more vehicles with the most technologically advanced safety features can only help, and this is part of our ongoing policy to support moves to reduce the number of accidents.”The five-door 2012 Volvo S60 sedan has safety features including the ‘Blind Spot Information System’ (BSIS), which causes sensors installed in the vehicle’s side mirrors to monitor the sides of the vehicle and alert the driver with a pair of warning lights when another vehicle enters the blind spot.
