Hertz has embarked on a major upgrade and modernisation of its car rental outlets across the world.
In an effort to “streamline the rental experience and improve the way consumers rent cars” the company has begun redesigning its retail outlets under a new concept called ‘Road Trip by Hertz’.
According to the company, the new outlets will offer “concierge-style service”, eliminating the need for customers to queue up. They will be fitted with iPad stations for researching local area information and charging mobile devices, along with on-site printing and FedEx services.
As well as practical support, the new rental outlets will come equipped with retail areas so travellers can stock up on food, drinks and other travel supplies such as maps, sunscreen, charging cords and beach bags.
“Hertz’s goal is to provide the lifestyle experience traveller’s desire when on the road,” commented Hertz’s chairman & CEO, Mark Frissora.
“We are consistently listening to our customers and implementing solutions to meet and exceed their needs. In addition to offering the best fleet on the road, we are also planning to expand this new customer experience format to all of our global locations by 2015. Since we unveiled the first redesigned locations, customer feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.”
Hertz has already started unveiling its new outlets, with revamped facilities now available at San Diego and Shanghai airports, plus city locations in London and Melbourne. More upgrades are scheduled to take place across the globe throughout the year.
