Hilton set to launch new Russian property

Hilton Worldwide today announced the signing of a franchise agreement with InvestGroup Hotel LLC to open a new Hilton hotel in Gelendzhik, Russia. Scheduled to open in summer 2010, Hilton Gelendzhik Resort and Spa will be the Hilton brand’s second property in Russia, following the opening of the iconic Hilton Moscow Leningradskaya in 2008.Welcoming today’s announcement, Patrick Fitzgibbon, Senior Vice President Development Europe & Africa, said: “As more travelers seek out the Russian Black Sea coast, the resort of Gelendzhik is seeing a revival as a major regional tourist destination. Russia is a strategic development market for Hilton Worldwide, and the new Hilton Gelendzhik Resort and Spa will offer much needed quality and internationally branded accommodation in the area. With improvements in the transport infrastructure and increasing amounts of travel to Black Sea resorts, we anticipate Gelendzhik becoming an attractive destination for leisure travellers.”Occupying a prime resort location on the Cap Tolstiy and with views over the Black Sea, Hilton Gelendzhik will offer 379 bedrooms including seven ten-bedroom bungalows, spa and fitness facilities of over 3,000 square metres including indoor and outdoor swimming pools, three restaurants, five bars and over 4,500 square metres of conferencing facilities.
