Hong Kong Airlines will launch an all premium class service to London from next year. Commencing on 8 March 2012, the new flights will be operated using a fleet of three brand new Airbus A330-200s, featuring just 116 seats in two premium cabins: Club Premier and Club Classic. The wide-body A330-200 usually carried upwards of 300 passengers in a usual two-cabin business and economy class layout.
Club Premier will include 34 flatbed seats in a 1-2-1 configuration in the two forward cabins, with services including fine dining, a selection of wines and champagne, turndown service with duvets, pyjamas and slippers and luxury amenity kits. Club Classic will feature 82 cradle seats configured 2-2-2. Both cabins come equipped with Wi-Fi, in-flight entertainment with high definition screens.
Flight HX875 will depart Hong Kong at 2350, arriving at London Gatwick Airport the following day at 0555. The return service, HX876, will depart from Gatwick’s North Terminal at 2130, arriving back into Hong Kong at 1805 the following day.
Gerard Clarke, Hong Kong Airlines’ General Manager for the UK, said; “We have gained a reputation for outstanding service over the past five years and we look forward to extending this to our new flagship route, connecting two global business capitals of the world.
“The concept for the all Club Class aircraft will provide passengers with a private jet style ambience and an exceptional crew to guest ratio, and we are confident that we have the right knowledge and experience to make a success of the new all Club Class daily service,” he added.
Established in 2006, Hong Kong Airlines serves a route network of 25 cities in Asia and Europe with a fleet of Airbus A330-200s and Boeing 737-800s.
