HK Express has continued to expand its operations with the arrival of its 15th aircraft.
The new Airbus A320 aircraft touched down at Hong Kong International Airport this week, and will be used to launch the low-cost carrier’s first ever flights to Myanmar. Services to Yangon and Mandalay are expected to commence in September.
“The A320 is the latest example of HK Express’ impressive growth over the past 2.5 years,” said Andrew Cowen, director & CEO of HK Express. “We are actively growing our fleet to keep up with demand and route expansion, and will be so excited to introduce more fuel- and noise-efficient aircraft in the upcoming months.”
HK Express has previously stated its intention to expand to a fleet of 50 aircraft by the end of 2018. The airline has a firm order with Airbus for 12 more 188-seat A320s and 12 230-seat A321 aircraft. The A320s will be the new fuel-efficient A320neo model.
