HKIA partners artists for New Year auctions

Hong Kong, 26 January 2010 - Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) has partnered with 10 local artists to celebrate of the year of the Tiger. Ten “Mercy Tigers”, designed by the artists, will be showcased on Level 3 of Terminal 2 from 29 January to 28 February 2010. These miniature tiger figures will be up for public auction and the proceeds will go to the Children’s Cancer Foundation.
Local artists collaborated in this project are Alice Chan@Asterialand, Carrie Chau, Chocolate Rain, Kasey Lin , Lab VL, Pacino Wan, Tim Tsui, Jim and FAMA.
To take these delicately handmade “Mercy Tigers” home, customers can place a bid by submitting a bidding form in person at the exhibition venue on Level 3, Terminal 2, or by fax to 2182 3548 . Bidding forms are available at the exhibition venue, as well as online at www.hongkongairport.com/promotion/CNY2010. The deadline for making the bid by fax is 25 February, and 28 February at 2100hr for submission in person at HKIA.

The “Mercy Tigers” exhibition will be open to the public from 0900hrs to 2300hrs. Admission is free. In addition, customers can redeem a “Blessed Tiger” upon spending HK$288 or more in Terminal 2 on a single day. “Mercy Tigers” are on a first-come-first-served basis, while stocks last .
