The trade representatives also enjoyed a premiere broadcast of the global promotional video of “Festive Hong Kong 2010″, the annual marketing theme of the HKTB.
Mr James Tien, Chairman of the HKTB thanked the travel and related sectors for their support to HKTB’s work in the past year. Mr James Tien said: “Looking into 2010, business and consumer confidence is picking up as the economic conditions improve. Hong Kong is well placed to benefit from the demand for outbound travel among the global and Mainland visitors. In particular, the Mainland has emerged as the world’s strongest single aviation market according to the International Air Transport Association.
“Leveraging on the growth of Mainland China and various opportunities, such as the World Expo in Shanghai, we will heavy up our promotions in the Mainland, as well as other short- and long-haul markets, increasing our budget for market promotions by 5.6% this year. Also, we will ride on the Festive Hong Kong 2010 annual marketing platform to introduce even more creative promotions, so as to generate greater business opportunities for the tourism-related sectors.”
