The number of tourists going to Hoi An in the first 10 months of the year reached just 1 million, a drop of 30% compared to the same period last year, VietnamNet Bridge has reported.
Dinh Thi Thu Thuy, Chief of Hoi An City’s Commerce and Tourism Office, attributed the fall to the global financial crisis and “low quality services”.
Total tourism turnover in the last 10 months was just VND550 billion (US$32 million), a year-on-year decrease of 33%, Thuy added.
