InterContinental Hotels Group has opened the Holiday Inn Express Singapore Katong in the city’s first heritage town, the Joo Chiat neighbourhood of Katong.
The 451-room hotel is the third and largest Holiday Inn Express hotel to open in Singapore. Nestled among cultural landmarks such as Peranakan eateries, specialising in traditional Chinese-Malay cuisine, and colourful shop houses, the hotel makes it easy for travellers to explore a different side of Singapore.
Parkway Parade Shopping Centre and the I12 Katong Mall, East Coast Park are all nearby, as is the famous 328 Katong Laksa, which serves the aromatic curry-based noodle soup.
Situated a 15-minute drive from Singapore Changi International Airport, the Holiday Inn Express Singapore Katong is located in the eastern region of Singapore
Leanne Harwood, vice president, operations, Southeast Asia and Korea, IHG said: “With the opening of the first Holiday Inn Express hotel outside the Singapore city centre, we now offer a more diverse range of location options for travellers in this multi-faceted city.
“One defining factor of the Holiday Inn Express brand is our hotels are located close to a range of food and entertainment options, and we couldn’t have asked for a better location than the colourful precinct of Joo Chiat to open the hotel.”
Adel Aramouni, general manager, Holiday Inn Express Singapore Katong, added: “The new hotel is a smart choice for business and leisure travellers alike who appreciate value, combined with close proximity to the best facilities our city has to offer. We’re delighted to be welcoming guests to Holiday Inn Express Singapore Katong from today.”
Guests can also enjoy amenities such as the Grab & Go breakfast, a choice of firm or soft pillows, power showers with a three-function massage showerhead, a 24-hour fitness room and a self-service business centre.
To celebrate the opening, Holiday Inn Express Singapore Katong is offering a special opening rate starting from SGD121.00++ per night for bookings from now until 31 August 2016.
