Holland America Line’s ms Zaandam cruise liner will sail four Asian itineraries in 2012. The 14-day ‘Asia Explorer’ voyages will sail between Hong Kong and Singapore and feature port calls at Koh Samui, Bangkok, Sihanoukville, Phu My and Nha Trang, with five departure dates between 8 January and 18 March 2012. The 14-say ‘China & Korea’ voyage meanwhile, departs on 19 February from Hong Kong, and features two full days at both Shanghai and Beijing, as well as calls to Seoul and Jeju, before returning to Hong Kong. The 28-day ‘Asia Explorer Collectors’ voyage combines the Asia Explorer and China & Korea itineraries back-to-back, departing Singapore on 5 February. Finally the 22-day ‘Japan and Alaska’ repositioning voyage departs Kobe on 15 April and features port calls at Jeju, Busan, and Petropavlovsk, on Russia’s Kamchatka peninsula, before crossing over the northern Pacific Ocean to Vancouver, with stops at Kodiak, Sitka and Glacier Bay National Park in Alaska.
“Asia continues to be a ‘must-see’ destination for our guests looking to explore a culture that is rich in tradition and mystery, combined with modern technology and intriguing architecture,” said Richard Meadows, Holland America’s Executive Vice President of Marketing, Sales & Guest Programs. “Filled with unique sights, sounds and experiences, we’re thrilled to add South Korea to our diverse Asia itineraries.”
The ms Zaandam carries 1,432 passengers and features a range of F&B outlets, spa and salon, nightclub and kids’ club.
