Plans to install a huge Hollywood-style sign near New Zealand’s capital, Wellington, may be given the boot as the US movie-making town objected to the project. The Telegraph reported that Kiwi filmmaker, Peter Jackson, may face legal action if he goes ahead with the plans to erect the ‘Wellywood’ sign above the city, after the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce (HCC) warned that the sign is trademarked.
“It’s fine for them to put up a sign, just don’t duplicate ours,” HCC President, Leron Gubler, said. The sign is due to be installed in June.
