Online cruise specialist cruise.co.uk is to recruit an additional 20 home-based cruise consultants in the coming months to help the firm meet increased demand for cruise holidays.
Despite a sombre start for the year due to the Concordia incident, the short term setback had little effect on bookings for the mainstream cruise brands, largely due to the company’s aggressive marketing strategy.
The company has seen the traffic to its site up 33% last month, with 110,000 searches for both late availability and 2013. Interestingly more than 2,000 of these are for Costa Cruises, with little marketing effort in the UK.
“Whilst many of our competitors have suffered, our investment in back office system, staff training and marketing, means that we have a strong brand presence and are now capitalising on it with increased interest in our cruises and bespoke holidays,” said Seamus Conlon, managing director of cruise.co.uk.
Successful candidates will earn a base salary of £15,000 plus uncapped commission
