Hostelworld.com has secured a contract to provide accommodation for one of Latin America’s biggest travel agencies. The three-year deal with Despegar.com was secured throughout the Enterprise Ireland trade mission in Brazil, which aims to help Irish companies create new business and sales overseas. However Hostelworld.com and its parent Web Reservations International (WRI) had already seen a 30 percent increase in bookings to Latin America and is due to launch a Brazilian Portuguese website. “Our strategy is to aggressively grow the Latin American market through a number of key initiatives including the expansion of our property base, the enhancement of our unique content and further fostering and development of relationships with key Brazilian partners,” said Feargal Mooney, CEO of WRI. “Our 3rd Latin America Hostel Conference, which recently hosted over 250 delegates from across the region emphasises the strength of our current presence which we hope to build upon considerably.”
