The new, boutique 101-room Hotel Indigo York has celebrated its official launch with a day of special events.
Hotel owner Splendid Hospitality Group hosted a thank you lunch for those who had helped to design, build and develop the hotel.
Chairman Shiraz Boghani, vice chairman Nadeem Boghani, and CEO Stuart Bailey welcomed special guests including the Lord Mayor of York, Councillor Sonja Crisp, Steve Brown, MD of Visit York and a delegation from InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG).
General manager of Hotel Indigo York Mike Sweeting said: “After a busy summer welcoming our first guests in, we wanted the chance to thank our neighbours in Walmgate and everyone involved from the start of this project in helping us get our new hotel off the ground.”
In the evening neighbours and business associates were treated to a champagne reception and meatball canapés served by The Yorkshire Meatball Co. Team GB Paraclimber Sianagh Gallagher made a special appearance. Entertainment was provided by the sounds of Look Yonder with chocolate making and tasting stations by York’s Chocolate Story.
Hotel Indigo York is the third hotel in York for the Splendid Hospitality Group, it joins the The Grand Hotel & Spa York and Holiday Inn Express York.
