Hotel revenues in Makkah reach US$1.06 billion

The Hajj season is termed as the most lucrative seasons for Saudi Arabia.
This is supported by recent statistics of hotel revenues in Makkah which reveals a growth of SAR4 billion (US$ 1.06billion) just during the Hajj season alone.
Ziyad Bin Mahfouz, president of Elaf Group of Companies has emphasised on the importance of capitalizing on available potential to bolster both airlines and hotel services segment—particularly to address needs of tourists making their pilgrimage to Makkah and Madina.
The group announced a 50% increase on incentives and group packages during the beginning of this year in comparison to 2011. Ahmad Al Bayat, general manager of the travel and tourism division is confident of achieving higher growth by the end of the season.
