Sustainability, environmental responsible policies and green technology will be the key focus of The Hotel Show this year. Scheduled to take place from May 15th – 17th in Dubai, the event this year will emphasis on sustainable, energy efficient and eco-friendly solutions from all sectors of the industry.
In addition to The Green Initiative, The Hotel Show plays host to a Green Day programme of seminars and workshops on Monday, 16th May, presented by industry leaders and experts. With participation from Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), Dubai Government, Emirates Environmental Group, leading facilities management company Farnek Avireal, and Green Globe, key focus for the programme is the triple bottom line contribution required from sustainability initiatives for the hotel industry, and how to implement them.
“Sustainability is fast becoming an integral part of hospitality operations and management, not only to help conserve resources and reduce carbon footprints, but to ensure the most cost efficient approach to running hotel operations,” said Frederique Maurell, exhibition director of The Hotel Show.
In Dubai, the DTCM has legislated that all hotels must reduce their carbon footprint by 20% before 2012. From laundry equipment, water recycling systems, wet facilities to the reduction of energy bills, sustainable practice is fast becoming a necessity.
