The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has launched a new masters degree course in airline operations.
Created in partnership with the Ecole Nationale de l’Aviation Civile (ENAC) in Toulouse, the new course will see experts from several aviation fields teach courses on subjects including airline business, fuel management, safety management and crisis management.
This marks the first time IATA has partnered with a university to offer an airline operations degree.
“Creating innovative partnerships for the mutual benefit of our stakeholders is very important to IATA,” said Tony Tyler, IATA’s director general & CEO. “By joining our expertise with that of ENAC we will help to build the pool of qualified and competent aviation professionals needed to operate, manage and grow the international air transport system to meet future demand.”
ENAC’s president, Marc Houalla, said the degree course would “help to develop the next generation of senior airline operations professionals”.
The course will be offered at ENAC from September 2015.
