Abu Dhabi Airports, along with Abu Dhabi Convention Bureau, and Etihad Airways will host this year’s IATA Slots Conference. The event is scheduled to take place from 10-12 June 2014 and will witness attendance from over 1000 delegates across 200 airlines and airports.
The Conference – a voluntary assembly of IATA and non-IATA airlines – is a large gathering in the International Airport Transport Association’s (IATA) calendar. The goal is for airlines and airports to secure slots that will give them the best possible schedule to offer their customers.
Representatives of over 60 schedules-facilitated or fully coordinated airports convene to secure their slots for the following year. The hosts have estimated that the conference will deliver a direct economic impact of AED4.8 million (US$1.3 m) to the emirate.
