The London Marriott Hotel County Hall will undergo a multi-million pound renovation in 2016.
Located at the foot of Westminster Bridge, the 200-room property was first opened in 1922 as the headquarters of the local government in London before becoming a hotel in 1998.
Its vaulted ceilings and wood panelled chambers have witnessed many important moments of London history and it boasts incredible riverside views overlooking Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament.
The new uniquely-styled bedrooms and suites are arriving in stages with many available from December 2015 with all 200 and public spaces to be completed by May 2016.
The redesigned accommodation will include balcony suites with views of Big Ben, Westminster Bridge, the River Thames and the London Eye. All suites include large bathrooms, lobbies with mosaic flooring and bespoke wallpaper featuring a historic map of London from the era of the building’s infancy.
Hotel facilities will include a health club and spa, a 25-metre pool (the biggest hotel pool in London) and fine British dining at Gillray’s Steakhouse & Bar, the Leader’s Bar & Outside Terrace and iconic afternoon tea in the Library Lounge. There are also 13 event and meeting rooms and the option to book private dining events in exceptionally historic surroundings.
