InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has announced it has signed deals to manage two new hotels in Wuhan, Central China. The two hotels, InterContinental Wuhan and Holiday Inn Wuhan New City are expected to open in 2012, adding 1,300 rooms into the city’s inventory. Both properties will be located close to the huge 1 million square-metre Wuhan New City International Expo Centre
Chief Operating Officer for IHG Greater China, Edmond Ip, said; “The vast central and western areas of China represent huge potential for the hotel industry and IHG is taking the lead by establishing a presence in these up-and-coming regions.”
IHG currently manages 97 hotels in Greater China, with a further 100 in the pipeline.
