IHG to open Dubai’s first Staybridge Suites property

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has signed an agreement with H.E.Sheikh Rakadh Bin Salem Bin Rakadh Al Amiri to open IHG’s first Staybridge Suites in Dubai. Staybridge Suites Dubai – Union Square will be situated on Union Square, Jumeirah, in close proximity to the administrative, commercial and financial districts of the city, including DIFC and Dubai World Trade Centre.Scheduled to open in December 2012, the 165 all-suite extended-stay hotel will offer guests a convenient location for work as well as a number of leisure options, being close to prime shopping and entertainment areas such as Dubai Mall and Downtown Burj Khalifa, and with Jumeirah’s public beaches and parks within the vicinity. Commenting on the agreement, H.E.Sheikh Rakadh Bin Salem stated: “We are very confident that our partnership with IHG will be a long and successful one. Staybridge Suites offer guests something different from a traditional hotel, providing upscale accommodation for people who want a home away from home when travelling.” Staybridge Suites Dubai – Union Square will offer apartment-style living with the benefit of additional services, such as complimentary breakfast and free wi-fi. The hotel will feature a living room, exercise room, laundry room and a 24-hour shop. Each of the 165 suites will also feature a fully-equipped kitchen. This is the second Staybridge Suites hotel in the UAE and the third in the Middle East, joining Staybridge Suites Abu Dhabi Yas Island and Staybridge Suites Cairo Citystars. There are 189 Staybridge Suites hotels around the world and 99 in the development pipeline, including four in the Middle East which will open in the next two to three years.
