Indian arrivals to Nepal drop

Nepal registered a decline of 1.2% in tourist arrivals from India last month. According to the statistics provided by Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), the country registered a marginal tourist growth of 2.5% with 44,571 international arrivals. The China market saw decreased 8.3%, while India and China combined registered 26.4% growth in August 2011.
The country also witnessed significant drop in overall tourist arrivals from long-haul markets. Germany registered the maximum fall of 33%, followed with Switzerland 26%, Spain at 15.6%, and United Kingdom dropped 2.7% as compared to the same month last year.
