India-focused wellness tourism kicks off in Dubai

Dubai will play host to the first-ever India-focused luxury wellness exhibition and seminar. The three-day event will witness participation from across 20 high-end wellness brands and therapy providers.
The show will focus on offering wellness through rejuvenation, holistic healing and prevention and reversal of lifestyle diseases. Organized by Dubai-based HNI-Luxury consultants GLOBUZZ, the first edition of Royal India Wellness 2014 Exhibition will take place at Jumeirah Beach Hotel from 11-13 June 2014.
The event is expected to draw over 3500 visitors. Key players such as Soukya, CGH Earth, Raviz, Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation, Ranjit’s Svaasa, Indus Valley Ayurvedic Centre, Kairali Ayurvedic Resort, Ananda – in the Himalayas and Kerala Tourism are among the many participants.
Gayathri Bhardwaj, founder and managing director of GLOBUZZ, said: “Royal India Wellness is a focused initiative to connect High Net worth Individuals (HNIs) of UAE, Arabian Gulf and Middle East countries to top high-end Indian wellness brands, therapy services and medical facilities. We aim to facilitate and explore potential trade opportunities to create nodal wellness platforms within the region.”
A SRI International Study projects India to be number one globally for growth in Wellness Tourism over the next five years, clocking over 20% gains annually through 2017. Wellness travel is a US$439 billion industry worldwide within the US$3.2 trillion global tourism industry, representing 14% of all tourism spending. India expects a double-digit growth in foreign tourist arrivals from Middle Eastern countries this year.
