India’s domestic air traffic drops

India’s domestic air traffic growth dropped 0.9% in the first nine months of 2012.
As per the passenger traffic data, domestic airlines carried 438.39 lakh passengers between January-September 2012 as compared to 442.18 lakh passengers during the corresponding period of 2011.
Last month, domestic airline carried 40.18 lakh passengers, while August 2012 registered 43.69 lakh domestic travellers. The break-up for the month of September 2012 is as follows:

IndiGo topped the market share of domestic airlines in September 2012 at 27.2%, followed with Air India (19.3%), SpiceJet (18.5%), Jet Airways (18.1%), GoAir (7.6%), JetLite (5.7%) and Kingfisher (3.5%).
