India’s first transit hotel opens in Delhi airport

Langham Hospitality Group has opened the Eaton Smart, India’s first airport transit hotel at New Delhi Airport.The 93-room hotel charges rates from INR 3,000 (approx. US$65) per five hour stay. The 93-room Eaton Smart is located inside Terminal 3 of the new airport building.Passengers with valid tickets are able to check in into the 36-room domestic wing or into the 57-room wing in the international terminal after customs controls. In addition to guestrooms, guests are able to reserve the Aqua Pods in which to freshen up while allowing access to the hotel’s services and facilities. Services include the Essentials Spa offering a range of treatments for pre and post flight pampering. A fully-equipped gymnasium allows guests to work out and energise. Bob van den Oord, Vice President of Langham Hospitality Group said: “Eaton customers are self-sufficient, tech-savvy globetrotters who value efficiency and ‘friendly can do’ service so we’ve built our model on the ability to do more for each guest, affordably and with simplicity.” New Delhi Airport Terminal 3 handles around 34 million passengers a year and is reputed to be the world’s sixth busiest airport with 1,500 passengers transiting daily.
