Kamel Ajami (pictured) is the new Area General Manager for Dubai, Fujairah and Kuwait for Banyan Tree Hotels and Resorts. This is in addition to his current capacity as General Manager of Angsana Hotel & Suites Dubai - the Group’s first city hotel to open under the Angsana brand.
He has over three decades of experience with properties such as Hilton Sharm Waterfalls Resort, Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt; Hilton Baynunah & Hilton Corniche in Abu Dhabi and the Dead Sea Spa and Conference Centre in Jordan.
Gan Kim Leng has been appointed HPL Hotels & Resorts’ Vice President of Business Development and Asset Management. Gan was most recently the Vice President of Business Development and Asset Management with The Ascott Group. Prior to that, he spent 10 years with HPL Leisure Holdings, which is also part of the HPL Group, in overseeing the set-up and development of its North Asia retail business before moving on to its hotel division.
Simon Stamper is the new General Manager of the InterContinental Abu Dhabi. Previously General Manager at the 906-room Holiday Inn London Kensington Forum, Stamper has almost 25 years of experience in hotel management, more than half of which has been with the InterContinental Hotels Group.
Rod Munro has been appointed General Manager of the Novotel Citygate in Hong Kong. Rod has taken on operations roles for Accor in Australia, New Zealand and Thailand including an assignment working with Accor’s Sydney Olympic Park hotels. He was most recently GM of Headland Hotel Hong Kong.
