Emirates-owned JW Marriott Marquis Dubai recently announced the accreditation of the ISO 14001 certification for outstanding environmental practices. The JW Marriott Marquis Dubai is the first large hotel in the UAE to receive the certification thereby focusing on environmental responsibility and sustainability.
The ISO 14001 Certification details optimum requirements for environmental management systems within companies, and certification is gained by effectively implementing policies, procedures and systems that follow and meet ISO standards.
General manager Bill Keffer said: “The certification is a culmination of a colossal amount of work from our property leaders and a concerted effort from the entire staff of 1,450 associates to make this on-going initiative work.”
The certification supports both efforts of Dubai Government and of Marriott Internationals Global Environmental Strategy.
