ITB Asia will offer a full-day conference programme for the MICE sector this year.
The ninth instalment of the Asian travel trade show will take place from 19-21 October 2016 at Singapore’s Sands Expo & Convention Centre. And new partnerships with the Society for Incentive Travel Excellence (SITE), Singapore Association of Convention & Exhibition Organisers and Suppliers (SACEOS), and Incentive Conference & Event Society Asia Pacific (ICESAP), will see 20 May 2016 become a dedicated MICE Day.

The inaugural MICE Day will be held in a dedicated conference room and will include sessions from a range of industry figures, discussing key issues facing the MICE sector.
“These dedicated sessions will provide real-world advice for MICE delegates, helping to keep them up-to-date on the latest developments in incentive travel and events and identify new business opportunities,” said Katrina Leung, executive director of Messe Berlin (Singapore), the organisers of ITB Asia. “As a leading platform for the travel industry, ITB Asia helps connect like-minded delegates to the latest industry trends.”
SITE will conduct two sessions on MICE Day, under the theme of ‘Managing Incentive Travel Programmes’. The first session, entitled ‘Incentive Travel Budget and Marketing’, will explore the fiscal and marketing challenges that planners face, while the second session, ‘The Customer Experience and the Importance of Communication’, will highlight the importance of service and communication.
SACEOS will also bring its industry experts to the show, with a high-level session discussing the latest industry developments. They will also arrange a workshop for the MICE sector.
ICESAP will continue to work with ITB Asia on a series of MICE-themed sessions at this year’s event. Two members of ICESAP’s advisory board including Bert Li from Amway China and Aileen London from Oracle Corporation, will be speaking at this session.
Last year, ITB Asia attracted close to 760 exhibitors from 73 countries, as well as 880 buyers and more than 10,300 attendees over three days.
