The number foreign and domestic drug smuggling cases intercepted at Jakarta’s Soekarno-Hatta International Airport rose dramatically 2008, the Jakarta Post reported the airport’s task force, Satgas, as saying.
Last year, Satgas reportedly foiled a total of 42 domestic and international smuggling attempts, up from just eight in 2007.
“This is the year of success when it comes to hindering drug trade from abroad and within the country,” said Satgas Chairman, Subagio.
