JAL adds more flights to quake-hit areas

Japan Airlines (JAL) will operate an extra 16 return flights today to provide aid and relief supplies to the earthquake- and tsunami-hit areas in the country’s northeast. The carrier will add one extra flight to Hanamaki from Tokyo Haneda, Sapporo and Osaka, as well as five additional services to Aomori – three from Sapporo and two from Osaka. Yamagata will be served with six extra flights from Haneda and one from Osaka, while JAL will also operate an additional service from Osaka to Akita.
The airline also noted that all services to the devastated town of Sendai remain cancelled.
