JAL returns to profit after 3 years

Japan Airlines reported better-than-expected earnings for the three months ended December 31. 2007, thanks to strong business travel demand and the suspension of loss-making routes.
The carrier has also made progress in cutting staff and using more fuel efficient aircraft.
JAL is on course to return to profitability this fiscal year ending March 2008, its first in three years.
