JAL serves up new autumn menu

Starting from September 1, 2009, Japan Airlines (JAL) will introduce a new autumn menu for executive class passengers on flights to Korea, as well as economy class passengers on flights to Europe and parts of South East Asia.
JAL has been receiving positive reviews of its Premier Soraben (Sky Bento) served onboard JAL’s Korea routes. To welcome the autumn, a special series of the Soraben, called the Soramen (Sky Noodles) will be served for the first time for a limited period of a month from September 1, to September 30, 2009 to executive class passengers on Korea-bound flights from Osaka (Kansai) and Nagoya (Chubu). Presented in a visually-enticing Japanese-style lunch box, the delectable Soramen includes 200grams of noodles accompanied by an assortment of colorful side-dishes comprising meat and vegetables.
Another first for JAL this autumn season is the collaboration with the renowned Nihonbashi Taimeiken – a western-style restaurant well established in Tokyo since 1931, to offer in-flight versions of dishes from the restaurant’s original menu to passengers traveling in economy class on routes from Japan to Europe and parts of South East Asia. Meals will be prepared under the supervision of the esteemed restaurant’s third generation chef, Mr. Hiroshi Modegi, allowing passengers traveling on JAL to taste onboard, traditional flavors of the Taimeiken’s Keema Curry, Hayashi Rice and Demi-glace Sauce Hamburger with rice in the coming months of September, October and November respectively.
