JAL to launch Osaka-Gimpo route

From 10 January 2009 Japan Airlines (JAL) will start operating flights between Kansai International Airport, Osaka, and Gimpo International Airport in Seoul. In addition, from 1 December 2008 the airline will begin a codesharing agreement with Korean Air on the route. On the route between Kansai and Incheon (Seoul) airports, JAL will reduce the number of flights it operates from 21 to 14 flights per week.
At present JAL, including Korean Air Lines codeshares, serves South Korea on 14 routes with a total of 241 round-trip flights per week, linking Seoul, Busan and Jeju Island to 8 cities Japan. From 10 January, 2009 this will have increased to 15 routes with a total of 248 round-trip flights per week.
