The JAL Group has announced that it will increase the fuel surcharge on all international passenger tickets issued from 1 April 2010. Following a rise in the price of jet fuel, the Japanese carrier will raise the surcharge by between US$1 and US$49, depending on the route. The biggest hikes come on routes to Canada, Europe, the Middle East, Oceania and the US (except Hawaii), which will rise from US$69 to US$111, and services to Brazil, which will climb from US$98 to US$143. The new surcharges are subject to government approval.
