Jet Airways plans to expand its domestic and global operations as of April. When the airline introduces its summer schedule, it is expecting to add 15% capacity to domestic routes and up to 7% on its international network.
Jet is also looking into launching a new international flight to Manila from either Mumbai or Delhi, to be serviced by an Airbus A-330 aircraft. “We are leasing two Airbus A-330 aircraft next month and plan to deploy one of them in the proposed Manila route. The other one is expected to be used for servicing the Gulf sector including Dammam,”a Jet Airways source told press.
On the domestic front, the airline is looking to enhance connectivity to the northeast with hopping flights in the region, adding Dimapur, Silchar and Bagdogra to the domestic network, using ATR turboprop aircraft. Plans are also afoot to upgrade operations out of Pune by replacing ATR with a Boeing B-737 aircraft to cater to the growing demand on sectors like Pune-Bangalore and Pune-Hyderabad.
