In its aggressive launches for long-haul intercontinental service, Jet will add Toronto-Mumbai service on Sept 5 and daily flights from New York’s JFK and San Francisco by Jan. Flights stop in Brussels or Shanghai.
Insiders say the North American invasion will take eight new aircraft worth US$1 bn. Similar launches usually start more conservatively, with a single flight to test the skies.
Jet chairman Naresh Goyal said, “In the next five years, we want to be the first preferred carrier to India,”
