Jetstar has launched a new service connecting Singapore with Fukuoka, via Bangkok.
The new route commenced today (26 June 2014) and will now operate daily using a 180-seat Airbus A320 aircraft.
Jetstar Asia’s CEO, Bara Pasupathi, said the airline had seen strong demand for the route since it opened for sale.
“We’re pleased with how the market is responding and all indications suggest it’s only going to grow in popularity as more travellers learn about our offering,” Pasupathi said. “Our bookings from Bangkok to Fukuoka are performing ahead of our expectations at this stage and it’s great to see so many Thai travellers snapping up our low fares.”
The new service will see Jetstar become the only low-cost carrier operating to Fukuoka from both Singapore and Bangkok. It will complement Jetstar Asia’s existing routes to Japan, including Singapore–Taipei–Osaka and Singapore–Manila–Osaka service.
