Jetstar will slash services out of Melbourne’s Avalon Airport by almost 20% from February, according to a report in The Age. The low-cost carrier will reduce its weekly services from the Victoria hub from 70 down to 57 for at least three months, the report said.
Jetstar spokesperson, Simon Westaway, was reported to say the move was designed to ensure the airline operated at maximum efficiency. “It’s about sustainable growth over the long term,” he said.
