Jetstar narrowly avoids collision

A Jetstar plane flying from Melbourne to Sydneycame within 60 seconds of colliding with a US Learjet, the Australian hasreported. The incident occurred on Saturday 12th July, and is underinvestigation by Australia’sCivil Aviation Safety Authority. The incident occurred in ‘uncontrolled’airspace - the areas of sky where pilots cannot seek guidance from air trafficcontrol staff.
