Jetstar Pacific, the Vietnam-based low-cost airline part-owned by Qantas, has been suffering losses of around VND40 billion (US$2.4 million) a month since early this year, according to a Thanh Nien News report.
Quoting an unnamed source, the Vietnamese publication reported that the loss was the result of “ineffective and expensive promotional programmes”.
The report added that Jetstar Pacific’s General Director, Luong Hoai Nam, said the airline losses were not the result of a decrease in the number of passengers.
