Jetstar has announced that it will commence flights between Singapore and Guangzhou from 22 December. The southern Chinese city will be served daily using a brand new Airbus A320 aircraft. Flights will depart Singapore at 2050, arriving in Guangzhou at 0040. The return service will leave Guangzhou at 0120, arriving back into Singapore at 0510.
“Our commitment to Singapore-China routes over the past two years has made Jetstar the fastest growing carrier between the two countries,” said Jetstar Asia’s CEO, Chong Phit Lian. “We increased our mainland China capacity by 300% in 2010 and we expect it will rise a further 150% in 2011 to unlock the latent travel demand that low fares create.”
Jetstar currently offers services from Singapore to Guilin, Hangzhou, Haikou, Ningbo, Shantou, Hong Kong, Taipei and Macau, while fights to Beijing start on 24 November.
