JIG to build three hotels in Saudi Arabia

Al-Jazeera International Group (JIG) of Qatar plans to build three five-star hotels in Saudi Arabia at a cost of SR1.5 billion, according to JIG Chairman Jassim bin Nasser Al-Thani, as reported in Arab News.
The JIG chairman disclosed that there was a plan to build two hotels and a shopping mall in Ahsa and Alkhobar cities of the Eastern Region and the third hotel in Riyadh.
He said a deal on the Alkhobar hotel would be signed with Irish company Peter Williams within two weeks.
The 13 storied, 200-room hotel and shopping mall projects in Ahsa will occupy an area of 45,000 square metres and will be implemented in 24 months, he said.
He said his group would build the five-star hotel in Riyadh, which will be located opposite to the Kingdom Tower, and will have 20 stories. A contract for this will be signed during the next three months, he said.
