Dubai’s Jumeirah Group gas signed a new collection of serviced residences in Guangzhou, which will be located next to its planned luxury hotel in the city.
The Jumeirah Guangzhou Hotel, which is already under construction and due to open in 2015, will offer 207 hotel rooms in the New Pearl City Tian He district of the southern Chinese city. And following a new agreement with GT Land, the hotelier will also operate 169 serviced residences in a nearby complex.
The previously announced 207-room, five-star Jumeirah Guangzhou Hotel will welcome guests at a 49th floor ‘sky lobby’, overlooking the city. Facilities will include 10 F&B outlets, a conference & banqueting centre, spa, swimming pool, fitness centre, yoga studio and high-end retail outlets. The 169 serviced residences will be located in a separate low-rise tower.
“Jumeirah’s arrival in Guangzhou will help satisfy the demand for luxury accommodation in Guangzhou’s developing upscale hotel district,” said Gerald Lawless, president & CEO of Jumeirah Group.
“We are delighted to have been selected as the management company to operate the luxury residences in addition to the hotel. We look forward to… establishing Jumeirah in a second key destination in China, one of the world’s fastest growing markets.”
Jumeirah Group currently operates 22 luxury hotels, resorts and residences, including five in Asia and one in China – Jumeirah Himalayas Hotel in Shanghai.
