Kerala-based Kairali Airlines Ltd will launch domestic operations from 1 November 2013.
The company will launch its logo on 15 June in Kochi. The airline is currently discussing its initial routes with the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). It plans to include connecting flights to Kochi, Bengaluru, Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode, Mangalore and Chennai.
Sajesh Ratnakar, Executive Officer of Kairali Airlines told the Times of India that the airline has eight directors on board, with majority of the stake being owned by Praveenkumar Kaithakkatt Krishnankutty. “Around 80% of the approvals from the DGCA are in place, but it is necessary to have everything in order before bringing the aircraft as keeping the planes grounded would be a bad move,” Ratnakar said.
