Kempinski’s largest property in China will open to guests in May 2014.
The Yanqi Lake Kempinski Hotel Beijing will be set on 14km² of land on the shores of the Yanqi Lake, approximately 60km north of the Chinese capital.
It will offer 595 rooms and suites, comprising 306 rooms located in the main hotel, plus a further 289 spread across a series of 12 boutique hotels and a traditional guesthouse on a private island in the lake. The 12 island boutique hotels are designed in a traditional Chinese style, surrounded by gardens and courtyards.
Facilities include more than 14,000m² of meeting space, including an 8,300m² conference centre, as well as 14 F&B outlets, a marina, 18-hole golf course, spa, fitness facilities and kids’ club.
Yanqi Lake is a popular tourist attraction for residents of Beijing, and attracted 2.8 million visitors in 2013.
The Yanqi Lake Kempinski Hotel Beijing will become the European hotel group’s 19th hotel in China and its second in Beijing following the Kempinski Hotel Beijing Lufthansa Center.
