The airline flies some 1.2 million children a year with their families and around 150,000 Skyflyers Solo – children who travel alone.
El Ultimo Grito have designed the dedicated ‘KidZone’ room within the terminal’s lounge complex which includes a magnetic play wall, plasma screens and PlayStations.
Skyflyers Solo customers will have their own departure and arrival zone, kitted out with the latest PC and computer games. Outside the lounges, kids’ tastebuds have been catered for with restaurants like Giraffe, Huxleys, Carluccios and Wagamamas.
Tiffany Hall, British Airways’ head of marketing and distribution, said: “Taking the hassle out of flying is vital for parents travelling with children. As a parent myself I know how challenging it can be but the facilities we have designed into the terminal will make travelling that much easier.”
