Kingfisher Airlines has announced the planned launch of flights on eight international routes before the end of the year, The Times of India has reported. The new routes are Delhi-London (Heathrow), Delhi-Bangkok, Delhi-Dubai, Mumbai-Bangkok, Mumbai-Dubai, Mumbai-Singapore and Mumbai-Hong Kong and Mumbai-Colombo. The new Delhi services will mark Kingfisher’s first international flights from the Indian capital’s Indira Gandhi International Airport.
However the carrier will also suspend services on its Bengaluru-London and Bengaluru-Colombo routes from 15 September - the day before it launches its Hong Kong and Singapore services.
Kingfisher’s founder, Vijay Mallya, said the decision to suspend international services from Bengaluru was taken to “ensure optimal and efficient utilisation of its fleet and looking at the booked loads and yields between September and November”.
The new routes from Mumbai to Singapore and Hong Kong will be served with daily direct return services and operated by new Airbus A330-200 aircraft, an airline spokesperson was reported saying.
