Kiribati may buy land to relocate population

The south Pacific island nation of Kiribati is considering buying land elsewhere so that its population can relocate if rising sea-levels submerge the country, Bloomberg reported. Kirbati’s President, Anote Tong, was reported saying in an interview;
“We would consider buying land. The alternative is that we die, we go extinct.”
